Our Favourite Men’s Travel & Vacation Bag

The travel season is upon us! For some, it’s time to get away and escape the cold. Some of you are about to go on spring break or reading week. You may also have plans to travel this year. Festival season is only a few months away. Well, you asked, therefore, I must deliver, vacation bags for men are my latest request. It actually made me happy, there’s an assumption that men don’t care about things like travel bags or vacation bags for that matter. Times have changed and men want to travel in style. With limited accessory options available for men, every detail matters and a great travel/vacation bag is essential.

When I picked the below bags I went based on functionality, durability, craftsmanship, quality and style. We want to have it all and we want to spend our money wisely. These bags should last you for many years to come.

TUMI

I have featured TUMI before and I wanted to showcase this brand again. They honestly make the best travel bags for both men and women. In addition, TUMI promises that “when you purchase a TUMI, you also purchase a promise that if something goes wrong, we’ll fix it. If it breaks, we’ll repair it. If it’s lost, we’ll help you track it down.” Definitely, a statement that a world traveling gent will appreciate.

This is a refined leather trim multi-functional utilitarian style backpack by TUMI. Whether it’s work or travel, this bag won’t disappoint. It has a laptop compartment at the back and duffle bag styled front with two angled open pockets inside the main cavity. With two leather top carry handles you can use it as a duffel or wear it on your back as a backpack.

HERSCHEL

Herschel Supply’s bags are another one of my favourite travel bags for men (women included). This brand draws its inspiration from old-school American mountaineering heritage. You can see vintage elements in all their designs.

I think the Woodland Camo Wheelie duffel with muted urethane wheels is the perfect vacation bag. It comes with a removable shoulder strap so you can sling it over your shoulders. You also have the option to carry it as a duffle or use the retractable trolley handle instead. With so many options, travel will be effortless. It’s also quite spacious.

TROUBADOUR

The Troubador Barrel Duffel bag is made in Italy. I feel like it’s the ultimate travel bag for a man on the go who only packs the best essentials. It’s sleek modern design caught my eye, I also love the large leather pocket in the front.

Italian leather details give this water-resistant lined cotton canvas bag a sophisticated look. The adjustable strap allows you to wear it like a crossbody bag, slung on your should or carried by hand. Don’t be fooled by this minimalist design, it has interior pockets for organizing your essentials.

VALEXTRA

One might say I saved the best for last, but seriously Valextra makes stunning bags. They also personalize your bag with a monogram. If this is your first time hearing about Valextra I am happy to introduce you to this exceptional luxury Italian brand.

This holdall is made with hard-wearing pebble-grain leather, a light-weight material. It folds easily to fit into a larger suitcase. Inside it contains a set of fabric pouches, this includes a shirt and a shoe case. Each bag is handmade and you will see a serial number inside that is the signature of the Artisan, therefore, making your bag truly special.  Features include four separate zipped pouches – laptop, tablet and grooming essentials.

You will notice I didn’t feature any hard case suitcases. As much as I love them, they’re not always the best option when you are looking for something that’s light and can fit into compact spaces. If you’re on a road trip you need a bag that’s soft and durable. Unfortunately, hard case suitcases can take up space, even the smallest ones.
