The leaves are changing oh my! I know some of you are in complete denial. I love this time of year. In my opinion, it’s the most fashionable time of the year. Slightly warm days and cooler nights allow you to really play with apparel. A giant black hat by day can be transformed by night with a cloak, skinny jeans, a blouse, an edgy ankle boot and accessories. Now you can really play with your wardrobe and find great ways to incorporate both summer and fall in one look. No better time to marry brights, neutrals and deep earth tones together.
It’s also the perfect time to add to your fragrance profile. I have 3 go to fragrances that live among my collection but I am always on the lookout for something new to entice my senses. Here are a few fragrances that I feel are fall worthy. Remember, sometimes the perfect fragrance for you maybe Chanel No5 for instance. If this is what speaks to you day in and day out, it works for you, then don’t feel pressure to buy something new to top what already compliments you.
Perhaps, the fragrances listed below might be just what you have been looking for. Perhaps they will join your fragrance collection and add that extra something that your nose has been longing for. It’s true a good outfit is a good outfit but the finishing touches make all the difference. The right fragrance adds that mist of intrigue that can transform ordinary into magic. When you smell good, you do indeed feel good.
Elizabeth and James – Nirvana Bourbon & Nirvana Rose
Mary-Kate & Ashely Olsen never cease to amaze me with the way they keep creating all things good for all their brands for people to enjoy. I am a big fan of their design work. You can tell there’s a lot of attention to detail and this is something that you see with their latest fragrance duo Nirvana Bourbon and Nirvana Rose.
Nirvana Bourbon ⇔ It’s the warmness of vanilla Bourbon that really draws one in. Soon you will be met with the deep richness of Oakwood that gives depth and strength to this scent. A bold touch of Tuberose reminds you that being strong is sexy. That strength, passion and impulsivity can come together to create something that enlivens what’s hidden within you.
Nirvana Rose ⇔ If you don’t know, then I must tell you Rose de Mai is translated as Rose of May. Rose de Mai is considered as one of the rarest roses that only flowers in May. It’s extremely expensive and a lot of roses are required just to make even the smallest batch. It smells as decadent as it sounds. It’s like a breath of fresh air. Rose de Mai dances well with Geranium and one of my favourite notes, sultry Vetiver. If lightness, effortlessness and confidence in a bottle are what you are looking for then you will find it with Nirvana Rose.
SJP – Stash
I had to feature Stash fragrant oil. It comes in a Eau de Parfum, but let me tell you the power of a fragrant oil. You can add a few drops in a bath, a touch on the ends of your hair, your skin. It’s great for those who want an everyday fragrance that feels like it’s apart of you, second skin. According to SJP she designed this unisex scent to smell like men’s body odor and well-worn men’s sweater. I know what you were thinking, I was thinking the same thing. But the idea isn’t as bad as it sounds. There’s something about the smell of human sweat or one’s natural scent. It’s one of the things that draws one to their potential lover even if we are unaware. I like the idea of drawing the senses in with something that is already familiar, there’s comfort in this.
SJP said Stash is “teeny bit of cognac, a teeny bit of leather, a teeny bit of body odor…’It’s old and sexy, like a sweater from a guy who was on the Eurorail too long or something.’” (sourced) With that said, I will say it’s the right balance of Cedarwood, Vetiver, Pistachio, Grapefruit, Black Pepper, Sage, Ginger Lily, and Musk. Warm and sultry notes dazzle with bright citrus and spicy notes to create a smell that seems like it’s always been there we had just forgotten about it. Well, it’s nice to meet you again, it truly is.
AERIN – Tanger Vanille
If you like Vanilla then look no further. AERIN Tanger Vanille is a Vanilla lovers dream in a bottle. It’s dense with one of the finest Vanillas, Madagascar Vanilla. Notes of Italian Bergamot and Bulgarian Rose add an earthy floral richness. It almost feels like you’ve been kissed by the sun with notes of Tonka Bean and Benzion. A fall fragrance that brings that summer warmth you will soon long for. It also has hints of golden Amber along with Sandalwood and soft Musk that bring you back to the cozy and comforting scent of fall.
Charlotte Tilbury – Scent Of A Dream
Amber, Black Pepper, Lemon, Rose Oil, Patchouli and Jasmine are the glorious and encapsulating notes that make up Scent Of A Dream. If you’ve ever dreamed up the perfect scent in your mind, this might be it for you. It’s smooth, sexy and seductive notes work well with playful light and feminine notes. It’s the idea of not too little but just enough of this and just enough of that will do. It’s a robust fragrant recipe that requires exact measurements that love and fire you feel within.
